OGTA has USTA Junior Teams that practice together and play matches against other clubs in the area. From December to April, we will have 8 matches (4 home and 4 away). The home matches will be played on Saturday's or Sunday's and the away matches will be played on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. For the away matches, parents will be responsible for driving. At each match we will have an OGTA pro present to coach the students, and give them an evaluation of the match.
In addition to the matches, we will have practices on the weekend working on strategy, positioning, shot selection, and team work.
AGE ELIGIBILITY: Players must remain age eligible through August 31st of the championship year
Ages U8 Orange Ball USTA Team
Players must achieve appropriate competencies as assessed by the coaching staff.
10 total forehand and backhand rallies from baseline with red ball over net ball net.
10 total forehand and backhand volleys.
Ages U10 Orange Ball USTA Team
Players must achieve appropriate competencies as assessed by the coaching staff.
15 total forehand and backhand rallies from 60 foot line with orange ball.
10 total forehand and backhand volleys between net and service line.
7/10 serves from 60 foot line into correct service box. (both ad and deuce side)
Ages U12 Green Dot USTA Team
Players must achieve appropriate competencies as assessed by the coaching staff.
20 total forehand and backhand rallies from baseline with green dot ball.
15 total forehand and backhand volleys between net and baseline.
7/10 serves from baseline into correct service box. (both ad and deuce side)
Ages U12 Yellow Ball Advanced USTA Team
Players must achieve appropriate competencies as assessed by the coaching staff.
20 total forehand and backhand rallies from baseline with yellow ball.
15 total forehand and backhand volleys between the net and the baseline.
